One might think that reading about 26 marathons would get boring, but that’s definitely not the case with Meb Keflezighi’s book 26 marathons. A quick and easy read, Meb takes the reader through a fast paced journey of his career and the lessons that has shaped his life through each of the 26 marathons he ran.

Like many of the books I’ve read in this genre, this book is instantly inspiring, while also leaving me wanting more from the book. I wanted more storytelling and depth. I wanted to see a deeper look into the human struggle of injury, rivalry and trying to make it as an athlete. Instead, and rightfully so, to cover and focus on 26 marathons we had to fly high over those dynamics.

The most inspiring part of the book is how Meb talks about his achievements in light of his age. I turned 40 last year and in many ways am experiencing the affects of age on my running. It’s good to be inspired by other runners who did not give up regardless. Overall, if you love running, and especially marathons, you should do yourself a favor and read this book.
